Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio and Auxiliary Bishops Raymond Chappetto, Octavio Cisneros and Paul Sanchez will visit Catholic schools in Brooklyn and Queens during Catholic Schools Week.
Bishop DiMarzio will conduct his visitations on Thursday, Jan. 30, when he will hold an assembly at Immaculate Conception School, Jamaica Estates at 9 a.m., and at St. Francis de Sales, Belle Harbor, at 11 a.m. Dr. Thomas Chadzutko, the diocesan Superintendent of Schools, will accompany him.
Auxiliary Bishop Raymond Chappetto, Vicar General of the Diocese, will visit two schools in Bensonhurst on Tuesday, Jan. 28. They are Our Lady of Guadalupe at 9:15 a.m. and St.
Athanasius at 10:30 a.m.
Auxiliary Bishop Octavio Cisneros will hold an assembly on Friday, Jan. 31 at Our Lady of Trust Academy, Canarsie, at 8:45 a.m. He will also celebrate Mass the same day at Midwood Catholic Academy, Flatlands, at 10:30 a.m.
Auxiliary Bishop Paul Sanchez will visit St. Mary Gate of Heaven, Ozone Park, on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 10:30 a.m. On Wednesday, Feb. 5, he will celebrate Mass at St. Edmund’s, Sheepshead Bay, at 10:30 a.m.
Associate superintendents will accompany the auxiliary bishops.
The visits are part of the 40th anniversary of the nationwide celebration of Catholic education during the week of Jan. 26 to Feb. 1. This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service,” which highlights the schools’ focus on faith development, academic excellence and dedication to community service.
