Reverend Frank C. Tumino, Director of Liturgy

Father Frank Tumino was ordained a priest by the Most Reverend Thomas V. Daily at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint James on June 27, 1998. Father Tumino’s first assignment was at Saint Sebastian Church in Woodside, where he served from 1998 to June 2003. He next served at Saint Gregory the Great in Bellerose. During this time, Father Tumino has served as a Master of Ceremony for Bishop Joseph Sullivan and Bishop Thomas V. Daily, and as a member of the Diocesan Music Commission and a representative on the Presbyteral Council.
Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio appointed Father Tumino the Diocesan Director of Liturgy in February 2005. In this capacity, he was also appointed the Executive Secretary of the Liturgical, Art and Architecture, and Music Commissions of the Diocese. At the same time, the Bishop sent Father Frank for further studies in liturgy at the University/Seminary of Saint Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois. Father Tumino has served in a full-time position as the Director of Liturgy since August 2006.
Father Tumino holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Saint John’s University. He achieved a Masters of Arts in Theology, and a Masters in Divinity from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington New York. In May 2007, Father Tumino received a Masters of Arts in Liturgy from the Liturgical Institute at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake.
In November 2009, Bishop DiMarzio named Father Tumino Pastor of Saint Thomas the Apostle in Woodhaven while remaining the Director of the Diocesan Liturgy Office. Fr.
