Borough Director – Brooklyn

Job Description

The Borough Director for the Department of Education, Diocese of Brooklyn Drug Prevention Program (PDHP) oversees the delivery of all the drug prevention services to the Catholic elementary and high schools in the Borough of Brooklyn. This program receives funding from NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.  The position entails supervising Regional Coordinators, therapist and administrative assistant. The PDHP staff in Brooklyn consists of about 15 employees who are tasked with providing the counseling and drug prevention education services to the Brooklyn schools. The position requires experience in providing administrative as well as clinical supervision.  The Borough Director collaborates closely with the Queens Borough Director and meets regularly with that director and the Executive Director.  The borough director also acts as a liaison to various community agencies in the borough.

Qualifications

Masters’ degree and license in social work, counseling or related degree required. 3 – 5 years of administrative supervisory experience preferred. Intermediate/advanced computer skills in various components of Microsoft Office as well as proficiency in internet usage. Expectation to receive Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP) credential from the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services within two years of hire.
