Pope Francis has declared 2015 as the Year of Consecrated Life in the Universal Church. We recognize and give thanks for the many men and women in the Diocese of Brooklyn who have consecrated their lives to God and the Church as Sisters, Brothers, Religious Order Priests, Secular Institutes and Consecrated Virgins. Through the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience the members of consecrated life deepen their baptismal commitment as followers of Jesus by the witness they give in service to their many ministries, living in community and being available to the People of God.

El Papa Francisco ha declarado en la Iglesia Universal el año 2015 como el año de la Vida Consagrada. Nosotros reconocemos y damos gracias por muchos hombres y mujeres en la Diócesis de Brooklyn quienes han consagrado sus vidas a Dios y a la Iglesia como Hermanas, Hermanos, Sacerdotes religiosos, Religiosos seculares y Vírgenes consagradas. A través de los votos de pobreza, castidad y obediencia, los miembros de la Vida Consagrada profundizan sus compromisos bautismales como seguidores de Cristo por el testimonio que ellos dan en el servicio de sus muchos ministerios, viviendo en comunidad y estando disponibles para el Pueblo de Dios.

For those who are called to the consecrated life, may they be faithful witnesses of God’s love. May others be inspired to live their baptismal commitment by professing the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, we pray.
