Statement from Bishop Frank J. Caggiano, Vicar General for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn

“The Diocese of Brooklyn is actively working with parish leaders in all 198 parishes to create a long-term reconfiguration plan to sustain and strengthen the church throughout Brooklyn and Queens well into the future.

Since March, the Diocese has been engaged in a deliberative process and multi-tier analysis with parish communities including pastors, priests and lay leadership to analyze strengths and weaknesses of their current structure while addressing and preparing for future challenges.  Parishioners have been informed and consulted along the way and moving forward.  Over the coming weeks we will communicate the results of the evaluation to parishes.”
