QUEENS CATHOLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS CELEBRATES HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

The Diocese of Brooklyn is announcing that St. Sebastian Catholic Academy recently hosted a special assembly to commemorate National Hispanic Heritage Month at the school located in the Woodside section of Queens.

The special event featured students saying prayers and singing songs in Spanish, as well as a Salsa dance performance.  Throughout the last month, the students of St. Sebastian’s focused on Hispanic Heritage Month in their Spanish classes.

“At St. Sebastian, we embrace the Hispanic culture of our students.  Our Spanish teacher, Señora McGuire, does a wonderful job introducing the students to the Spanish language and cultural traditions.  During Hispanic Heritage Month, our students learned about the Hispanic culture through art, poetry, music, and dance.  Their hard work and talents shone though during our assembly to close out Hispanic Heritage month,” said Michelle Picarello, Principal of St. Sebastian Catholic Academy.
