Most Reverend Robert J. Brennan, Bishop of Brooklyn, regrets to inform you of the death of Reverend Francis J. Labita, a retired priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Father Labita was born on May 28, 1923 in New York, was ordained to the Priesthood on June 11, 1949, and died Monday, January 31, 2022.

Father Labita served the Diocese of Brooklyn as Pastor of the parish of Saint Patrick (Long Island City). He also served as Parochial Vicar of the parishes of Our Lady of Grace (Howard Beach) Saint Mel (Flushing), and Our Lady of Angels (Brooklyn).
