200 Teens and Adults from the Diocese to attend the World Meeting of Families

Approximately two hundred teens and adults from the Diocese of Brooklyn with participate in the One Day Pilgrimage to the Eighth World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, sponsored by the Diocesan School of Evangelization On September 23, 2015, four busses will travel from Brooklyn and Queens to Philadelphia for a day of prayer, conversation, meeting, and sharing. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to join over 18,000 people from all over the world who will come together next week to joyfully encounter Christ. There are no additional tickets available for the World Meeting, unfortunately.

Please be reminded that the World Meeting of Families resources were posted in the spring/summer and are still available on DioNet (First Class) in the Faith Formation folder.

Every parish/school/academy is urged to use this Sunday, September 20, Catechetical Sunday, or another appropriate day as a means for “kicking off” this important week of the World Meeting of Families. Plans for a “kick off” are also available on DioNet (see attachment).

Note that “follow-up” activities, events, and meetings to the World Meeting are very important. Locally, we will celebrate Diocesan Family Day at Xaverian High School on Saturday, October 3, 2015. Your assistance in promoting this day is requested and appreciated. Also, be sure that some “follow-up” is done locally so that the spirit and messages of the World Meeting of Families and Pope Francis’ Visit are not easily forgotten.

The new website www.meetmein.church is the “hub” for all School of Evangelization event information. Please make people aware of the need to register online at this website.

May these next days be filled with many blessings and great joy. If I can be of any help, please let me know.
