Alverlis
Alverlis is a worship leader, guitarist, singer songwriter, wife and mother; born and raised in New York City. Music was always a very natural part of her life as her father was a singer songwriter with his own band in the 70’s and 80’s as well as a guitarist. Alverlis grew up singing with her dad as he played guitar and she loved every minute of it; especially the songs he would write just for her! She picked up a guitar after she had a personal encounter with the Lord in her teenage years and began to teach herself however she could. She soon discovered the joy songwriting gave her and she has not stopped making music ever since. Alverlis is passionate about music and songwriting as she feels that it is her way of sharing her experiences and love of the Lord with everyone. She often calls her music, pieces of her journal through song. Alverlis ministers at various youth events, concerts, retreats and liturgical services throughout the country. She has collaborated in past Youth2000 New York events. She has also worked with local religious communities, such as the Sisters of Life, where she served as Co-worker. She has routinely helped lead worship during the Eucharistic adoration portion of Catholic Underground NYC alongside the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. Alverlis currently works closely with various parishes and communities within the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens as well as going wherever the Lord calls. She is also one of the songwriters for WorshipNow Publishing where she has songs published for liturgical use. She hopes her current album titled ‘Arise’ leads the hearts of both believers and non-believers into a place of complete surrender and worship. You can find Alverlis’ music on Itunes, Amazon, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Deezer, YouTube Music, as well as various Catholic Radio Stations.
Alverlis has recently taken on the role of children’s choir director and children and teen choir director for two different parishes. She sees how God uses children in a special way and is so happy to be able to share whatever knowledge God has allowed her to have and motivate them to use their gifts for Jesus. She mostly remains local, NYC as she feels God wants her to use all she can give full time right here where she lives. Alverlis is committed to serving her Diocese as best she can with God’s grace.
