On Palm Sunday, April 1st, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio will celebrate an 11 a.m. bilingual Mass at St. John the Baptist, 75 Lewis Avenue, Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The annual Reconciliation Monday will take place this year on Monday, April 2nd, in the Archdiocese of New York, the Diocese of Brooklyn and the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Confessions will be available at all parishes from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. For a list of local churches, visit www.i-confess.com.

On Tuesday, April 3rd, Bishop DiMarzio will celebrate the Mass of Chrism at St. James Cathedral Basilica, 240 Jay Street at Cathedral Place, Downtown Brooklyn, at 8 p.m. The Catholic Church has set aside this solemn day of liturgy and ritual to bless the holy oils, or chrism, that will be used for the remainder of the Church’s calendar year following the celebration of Easter. The oils blessed at the Mass of Chrism will be used at important ceremonies like ordinations, baptisms, confirmations, and the blessing of parishes. The Mass also offers priests and deacons of the diocese a chance to renew their vows.

Bishop DiMarzio will celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday, April 5th, at Regina Pacis Shrine Church, 1230 65th Street, Bensonhurst, at 7 p.m.

On Good Friday, he will offer opening prayers at St. James Cathedral Basilica with Timothy Cardinal Dolan for Communion and Liberation’s “Way of the Cross Over the Brooklyn Bridge” beginning at 10 a.m. He will then proceed over the Brooklyn Bridge with the congregation.

Bishop DiMarzio will celebrate Easter Vigil on April 7th at St. John Vianney, 140-10 34th Avenue, Flushing, at 8 p.m.

He will then celebrate Easter Sunday on April 8th at St. James Cathedral Basilica at 10:30 a.m.
