On Tuesday, June, 16, 2009 the Most Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio will undergo cardiac surgery. He will undergo the procedure at a local Catholic Hospital.
Three weeks ago, in the midst of his daily exercise regime, the Bishop noticed a significantly elevated heart rate. His physician initially prescribed an out patient procedure. Upon closer examination, it was determined that bypass surgery was necessary correct the blockage.
Bishop DiMarzio indicated that he anticipates a full recovery saying “I have great trust in my surgeon but ultimately place myself into the hands of Almighty God.” Recently, the Bishop indicated that he received the anointing of the sick.
Bishop Frank Caggiano, V.G. asked “the clergy and faithful of the Diocese to pray “That Bishop DiMarzio’s surgery be successful and his speedy convalescence.”
