Mr. Met, the official mascot of the New York Mets, was a special guest on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in the Bayside section of Queens. Mr. Met made the surprise appearance at the conclusion of the school year end Mass.
Following the Mass, Mr. Met made a surprise appearance at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Academy’s Kindergarten Graduation and then visited a Pre-K classroom.
Monsignor Thomas Machalski, the parish pastor, is the Catholic Chaplain for the New York Mets.
