Diocese of Brooklyn to Celebrate the Legacy of Pope Francis

Bishop Robert Brennan will celebrate the Diocese of Brooklyn’s Vigil Mass of Repose for our Holy Father, Pope Francis, on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Saint Bartholomew Church, located at 42-22 Ithaca Street in the Elmhurst section of Queens.
The bilingual Mass (English and Spanish) will be livestreamed on the parish Facebook page at bit.ly/3GxrRp4.
The Diocese of Brooklyn’s newspaper, The Tablet, will give out a Pope Francis Collectors Issue to mass attendees. The keepsake issue pays tribute to the people’s pope, capturing the profound impact he made on the Roman Catholic Church.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, starting at 3:30 a.m. (EST), NET-TV, the Diocese of Brooklyn’s cable channel, will provide live special coverage of the funeral of Pope Francis, including analysis and commentary.
Christine Persichette, anchor of Currents News, will lead team coverage along with Father Frank Tumino, Pastor of St. Augustine-St. Francis Xavier in Brooklyn, and Ed Wilkinson, Editor Emeritus of The Tablet, in the studio.
