DeSales Media to Sponsor Catholic Schools Night

DeSales Media, in conjunction with the Diocese of Brooklyn, will host a celebration of Catholic schools in Brooklyn and Queens on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, beginning at 5:45 p.m. at Maimonides Park, located at 1904 Surf Avenue in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn.

Prior to the start of the Cyclones’ game against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, an entertaining softball game between the “Collars” and the “Scholars,” the priests and the school administrators, will be played.

Bishop Robert Brennan and Deacon Kevin McCormack, Superintendent of Schools, along with Deputy Superintendent Joan McMaster, will then lead the pre-game awards ceremony honoring high-achieving students from the Catholic elementary schools throughout Brooklyn and Queens.

Students will also be recognized for excellence in art and writing for their contributions to Tablet, Jr., a monthly insert in The Tablet newspaper designed by students. During the first inning, Christine Persichette, anchor of NET-TV’s Currents News, will present students with these special honors.

Catholic Schools Night at MCU Park is sponsored by the DeSales Media Group. The Catholic Telemedia Network (CTN), a subsidiary of DeSales Media, is sponsoring the student awards ceremony. Members of the media are encouraged to respond as to their attendance.
