Catholic Schools Week: Bishop Brennan to Visit St. Andrew Avellino in Flushing

Bishop Robert Brennan, Bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn which includes Queens, will celebrate Mass tomorrow morning, Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Avellino Roman Catholic Church in the Flushing section of Queens, with the students of St. Andrew Avellino Catholic Academy. Bishop Brennan will bless the 8th Grade class rings at the end of Mass.

As part of his recognition of Catholic Schools Week, Bishop Brennan will visit the school and bless the new STEM lab and art room immediately following the conclusion of Mass.

Catholic Schools Week, sponsored by the National Catholic Educational Association, began yesterday and continues through Saturday, February 1. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.”

St. Andrew Avellino Catholic Church is located at 35-60 158th Street in the Flushing section of Queens. The academy is located next door at 35-50 158th Street in Queens.
