Bishop Brennan to Join Dominican Community in Celebrating Our Blessed Mother

Special Mass celebrating today’s Feast of Nuestra Senora de la Altagracia

Bishop Robert Brennan, Bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn, will join Catholics from throughout Brooklyn and Queens with roots in the Dominican Republic for a Mass in honor of the Feast of Nuestra Senora de la Altagracia tonight, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph located at 856 Pacific Street in the Prospect Heights section of Brooklyn.

A special procession featuring the flags of the United States of America, the Vatican and the Dominican Republic will take place before the Mass at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Immediately following the presentation of the flags, a special dance performance will take place. During The Presentation of the Gifts, a basket of Dominican products and flowers will also be presented. Songs at the Mass will be accompanied by the piano, the Tambora (Dominican drum) and the guitar.

The feast is Our Lady of Altagracia (Our Lady of High Grace) is celebrated by the Catholic Church annually on January 21.
