Bishop Brennan in Flushing to Celebrate the Lunar New Year

For Immediate Release: February 4, 2025

Bishop Robert Brennan, Bishop of Brooklyn which includes Queens, led a special Mass at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Flushing on Sunday to mark the Lunar New Year. This year’s celebration, marking the Year of the Snake, took place on February 2, 2025

“Trusting in the Lord, that idea of trusting in the Lord, is important for us as we begin this new year. This new year connects us with what God has done for us in the past, but it has us looking forward filled with hope, paying attention to where God is walking with us, and listening to one another and encouraging one another, said Bishop Brennan in his homily.

A Lunar New Year party took place in the parish hall which featured cultural music and dancing, as well as food and raffles.

Father Vincentius Do is the Pastor of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Flushing. Father Do also serves as the Chinese Apostolate for the Diocese of Brooklyn.
