Most Reverend Robert J. Brennan, Bishop of Brooklyn, regrets to inform you of the death of Reverend Monsignor Raymond W. Kutner a retired priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Monsignor Kutner was born on October 8, 1938, was ordained to the priesthood on May 30, 1964, and died Saturday March 14, 2026.
Monsignor Kutner served the Diocese of Brooklyn as Pastor of the parishes of Blessed Sacrament (Jackson Heights), St. Mary Star of the Sea (Brooklyn) and St. Malachy (Brooklyn). He served as parochial vicar of the parish of St. Michael (Brooklyn). While retired, he served as summer parochial assistant at the parish of Most Precious Blood (Brooklyn). Monsignor Kutner served as Judge of the Diocesan Tribunal, Defender of the Bond of the Diocesan Tribunal, Associate Appellate Judge of the NYS Interocean Tribunal and Associate Appellate Judge of the Canon Law Society. He also served as member of the Advisory Committee at Cathedral College High School, a member of the Pastors Advisory Committee, and a member of the Parish Priest Consultors.
