Catholic Cemeteries of Brooklyn & Queens

Two sacred places are set aside in Canon Law, those destined for divine worship and those set apart for the burial of the faithful.

Catholic Cemeteries of Brooklyn and Queens serves the families of our Diocese, and as part of their ministry, provides a place of prayer and remembrance. Our cemeteries reflect the doctrine and liturgy of the Catholic Church and are sacred places that signify devotion to the care of the souls of the faithful departed interred there. Catholic cemeteries, by their existence, proclaim through their work and example the sacredness of human life, belief in the Resurrection, and are symbols of faith, hope, and comfort. They are a sign to all that here is a religious place set aside not only for the care of the faithful departed, but also for their families and loved ones. 

Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens reflect the deep religious significance of the corporal work of mercy as it relates to the burial of the dead.  Also, the care which is provided to the final resting places of the faithful demonstrates that in a Catholic cemetery, we rest in Christ together in a shared community no matter how varied and diverse our lives. Our cemeteries provide reverence for the dignity of the body by serving all Catholics in our family of faith.
