Most Reverend Robert J. Brennan, Bishop of Brooklyn, regrets to inform you of the death of Reverend Monsignor John F. Keppler, a retired priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Monsignor Keppler was born on August 5, 1934, was ordained to the Priesthood on May 28, 1960, and died Friday, June 5, 2026.
Monsignor Keppler served the Diocese of Brooklyn as Pastor of the Parish of American Martyrs (Bayside). He also served as Parochial Vicar of the Parishes of Saint Bernadette (Brooklyn), Saint Vincent Ferrer (Brooklyn), and Holy Cross (Brooklyn); and was in residence at the Parish of Saint Andrew Avellino (Flushing). Monsignor served as Spiritual Director at Mater Christi High School
and Bishop Reilly High School.
