New special offers a look at the Jubilee of Hope and the stories that defined the faith in 2025 

Currents News is wrapping up this Jubilee Year of Hope by announcing the premiere of a special episode that looks back at 2025 and the moments that helped shape the faith of Catholics throughout Brooklyn, Queens, and beyond. The 30-minute newscast will air on Tuesday, December 23, at 7 p.m. on NET TV. 

This Currents News special includes: 

 -Pilgrims of Hope: How Brooklyn and Queens parishioners joined Bishop Robert Brennan to inaugurate the Jubilee year, embodying faith and unity.  

– A Historic Papal Election: Exclusive coverage from the Vatican as white smoke signaled the selection of Pope Leo XIV—the first Holy Father from the United States. 

-Honoring the “People’s Pope”: A heartfelt tribute to Pope Francis, with scenes from the massive farewell in St. Peter’s Square and a special Mass in the Diocese of Brooklyn. 

-The First Millennial Saint: The canonization of Carlo Acutis, featuring the official Diocesan Shrine at a Queens parish dedicated to the young tech-savvy saint. 

The half-hour End of Year special will air on Currents News, NET TV’s daily newscast.
