Bishop Brennan to Mark the Start of Catholic Schools Week 2025

For Immediate Release: January 24, 2025

Bishop Robert Brennan, Bishop of Brooklyn, will kick off the celebration of Catholic Schools Week in the Diocese of Brooklyn, which includes Queens, with a special Mass this Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 11 a.m., at St. Ephrem Roman Catholic Church, 929 Bay Ridge Parkway, in the Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn.

The students from St. Ephrem Catholic Academy will be in attendance and take part in the Mass, with the academy’s student choir singing. Immediately following the Mass, there will be a “Winter Wonderland” themed open house in the school, displaying student artwork, essays, and more.

Catholic Schools Week, sponsored by the National Catholic Educational Association, starts on Sunday, January 26, and continues through Saturday, February 1. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.”

Each day of the week will focus on different aspects of Catholic education, including celebrations of the faith, students and their families, vocations, teachers, and staff.

Bishop Brennan will be visiting schools in Brooklyn and Queens throughout the week.

Members of the media are welcome.
