SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS RELEASES 800 NUMBER FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOL FAMILIES IN HOWARD BEACH AND THE ROCKAWAYS

Catholic elementary schools and academies within the Diocese of Brooklyn will re-open on Monday, Nov. 5th, with the exception of the following schools: Ave Maria Catholic Academy, Howard Beach; St. Camillus School, Rockaway Beach; St. Francis de Sales School, Belle Harbor; St. Helenís School, Howard Beach; and St. Rose of Lima School, Rockaway Beach.

Due to the conditions created by Hurricane Sandy in these particular areas, the Office of the Superintendent of Schools is asking all families associated with these five schools to please call 1-800-963-6715.

“In light of the displacement of many of our families as well as the difficulties many are having with communications, we are asking families from these five schools to call us with their most recent contact information,” said Dr. Thomas Chadzutko, Superintendent of Schools in the Diocese. “Due to the damage to our schools in Howard Beach and the Rockaways, we want to share our plans in how we hope to continue to serve our families and their children.”
