PDHP – Department of Education

School Counselors: Provide individual and group counseling services to students in grades K – 12 in Catholic schools in the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens. In addition to counseling services, the position requires that the counselors provide drug prevention information to the students utilizing evidence-based curricula as determined by the funder: NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. The position requires that the counselor be able to work collaboratively with school administrators and faculties and become familiar with referral resources in that school community.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in social work, school counseling or related field. License in the field of study preferred.

Therapist – Supervisory Position: Responsibilities include: clinical and administrative supervision of counselors, individual and family therapy as part of agency family therapy unit, individual counseling, assessment, referral and evidence-based drug prevention groups and/or classes within a school setting. Some evening hours required. Start date for this position will be September 1, 2016.

Qualifications: Advanced degree/license in social work, mental health counseling, psychology or related field. A minimum of three years’ experience in individual, group and family therapy needed. Administrative and supervisory experience preferred.
