Full time Secretarial\Bookkeeper (Northern Queens)

A parish in Northern Queens is looking for a full time person to perform secretarial and bookkeeping tasks (35 hour per week Monday-Friday). Qualifications include general computer and office skills, including Microsoft Office and email applications. Secretary responsibilities include skillful use of office equipment, greet and handle parishioner inquiries via phone and in person. Maintain paper and electronic filing systems for parish records. Bookkeeper responsibilities include: review timesheets, reconcile payroll. Prepare and issue paychecks for all parish employees, as well as manage employee leave and vacation time off, verify attendance and manage all relevant employee paperwork including benefits. This position requires close work with the parish accountant to review and pay parish bills, prepare all bank deposits and monitor parish accounts and vendor service agreements. Candidates should be personable and able to communicate well both on the phone and in person.
