DIOCESE OF BROOKLYN TO HONOR OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE
WITH ANNUAL TORCH PILGRIMAGE THROUGHOUT BROOKLYN AND QUEENS

On Monday, December 12 at noon, the Diocese of Brooklyn will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph, 856 Pacific Street, in Prospect Heights, followed by a torch run/walk to 51 Catholic churches throughout Brooklyn and Queens.

Mass will be celebrated by the Most Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio, Bishop of Brooklyn, and concelebrated by Auxiliary Bishops Octavio Cisneros and James Massa.

Following Mass, at 1:30 pm, Bishop DiMarzio will bless and light the torches of the faithful. At 1:45 pm, 3,000 participants will depart and make their pilgrimage to participating parishes. To ensure everyone’s safety, each group will be accompanied by NYPD officers. There are five routes, three will end in Queens, and two will terminate in Brooklyn. This event is being organized by Father Jorge Ortiz, who serves as the director of the ministry to Mexican-American immigrants. For more information contact Ely Soriano at (347) 512-1211 oresoriano@desalesmedia.org.
