A Letter from
the Chairman
Dear Friends in Christ,
Every gift to the Alive in
Hope Foundation comes from a faithful family member and friend
of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Every gift, in turn, makes a
significant impact on the Foundation's mission and the people it
serves throughout Brooklyn and Queens. It's a simple message,
and it's one we continue to stress just 10 years after the
successful Alive in Hope capital campaign that launched the
Alive in Hope Foundation as we know it today.
The Alive in Hope
Foundation delivers great optimism and hopeful support of the
Church's
mission throughout the mosaic of our communities. Because our
friends and family have entrusted us with their gifts, it's
critical for us to share with you how we put those gifts to
work. The Foundation's priorities include strengthening parish
life and enriching Catholic schools and Religious Education
programs. In addition, funds help support the formation of lay
pastoral leadership. The Alive in Hope Foundation also assists
in the promotion of discernment programs for priestly and
religious vocations. This is only a snapshot of the story that
is Alive in Hope.
Our most significant role
as stewards is providing effective and responsible fiscal
management for our donors. Simply put, we believe in
accountability and transparency. Many generous donors who have
presented us with extraordinary gifts have built the Alive in
Hope Foundation. It's why we must strive every day to be good
stewards of the resources entrusted to us.
The Church teaches us that
we are created to know God and to serve Him faithfully while we
are in this world. That belief tells us why we must have the
necessary resources today and in the future to serve others -
especially here at home in Brooklyn and Queens - and to help
those we serve grow in their awareness of God and their Church
community. That's why I invite you to reflect prayerfully on
your role in the Alive in Hope Foundation as you consider your
future financial plans.
We advance the mission of
the Foundation by seeking endowment and memorial funds that
support our mission as the Church in Brooklyn and Queens. Our
team of professionals work
to help our donors reach their charitable objectives and
financial goals by assisting them with planning and implementing
their gifts. We also assist diocesan parishes and schools - as
well as a variety of diocesan ministries and other Catholic
organizations - with their long-term fiscal needs.
Your gift to the Foundation
will deliver significant funding for many parish and diocesan
ministries. Your gift will make a critical difference in the
lives of others. Your generosity will ensure that our mission of
service continues to grow in strength for many years to come.
Sincerely in Christ,

Rev. Msgr. John J. Bracken
